AWARD CEREMONY PROTOCOL - DAL CHALLENGE CLASSES

Participation in the Awards Ceremony is strongly encouraged.  Riders not intending to participate in their awards ceremony must notify the VADA representative at the 

Award Hospitality Tent at the time they pick up their ribbon.

Ceremony Procedures

A mounted awards ceremony will be held for each Challenge Class (USDF Musical Freestyle, FEI Musical Freestyle, PSG, I1, and the Maestro Cup GP Challenges).

  • Participation in the Awards Ceremony is strongly encouraged.
  • Riders not intending to participate in their Awards Ceremony must notify the VADA representative BEFORE their Award Ceremony.
  • Riders placing in a challenge class must pick up their ribbon PRIOR to their designated awards ceremony. Awards pick-up will be at the Awards Area in front of Cashvan, where tests are being picked up.
  • Riders participating in their Awards Ceremony must be in the stated location 5 minutes prior to their designated award ceremony time.
  • Riders and horses must be fully dressed in appropriate show attire, with the ribbon on the left side of the bridle, securely & safely fastened on the bridle. For safety reasons, this should be done before leaving the barn. Leg wraps are permitted.
  • Riders may choose to participate in the ceremony on any horse, but the horse and rider must be in proper show attire as described above.
  • An unmounted rider is permitted with prior permission from the Award’s Coordinator. No unmounted horses are allowed. The rider must be in proper show attire.
  • All riders participating in an Awards Ceremony will have their photo taken and will then have the opportunity to participate in a victory lap should they so choose or may exit the arena prior to the victory lap.

SPORTING HORSE AMATEUR CHALLENGE (SHAC) AWARDS

THIS YEAR, WE WELCOME  BACK MOUNTED AWARDS CEREMONIES FOR THE INDIVIDUAL SHAC AWARDS!

Participation in the SHAC Awards Ceremonies is strongly encouraged. 

Ceremony Procedures

  • Participation in the SHAC Awards Ceremonies is strongly encouraged.
  • An unmounted rider is permitted with prior permission from the Award’s Coordinator. No unmounted horses are allowed. The rider must be in proper show attire.
  • Once your SHAC division has been completed and placed AND BEFORE YOUR AWARDS CEREMONY, the top six placing riders in each division should pick up their ribbons and prizes at the Awards Area in front of Cashvan, where tests are being picked up. If you do not plan to attend the awards ceremony, you must advise the award coordinator prior to the time of your Awards Ceremony.
  • Arrive at the stated Awards Ceremony location 5 minutes before your designated time, with you and your horse fully dressed in appropriate award ceremony attire, including your SHAC saddle pad and the ribbon on the left side of the bridle, securely & safely fastened on the bridle. For safety reasons, this should be done before leaving the barn.
  • Riders may choose to participate in the ceremony on any horse, but the horse and rider must be in proper show attire. 
  • Riders and horses must be fully dressed in appropriate show attire, with the ribbon on the left side of the bridle, securely & safely fastened on the bridle. For safety reasons, this should be done before leaving the barn. Leg wraps are permitted.
  • Prizes will NOT be mailed, so if you are not able to participate in your Awards Ceremony, you must notify the awards coordinator prior to the time of your Awards Ceremony and pick up your ribbon and award.
  • All riders participating in an Awards Ceremony will have their photo taken and will then have the opportunity to participate in a victory lap should they so choose or may exit the arena prior to the victory lap.
  • There will be no SHAC Team Competition this year.
